Today was "Hat Day" at Grace's preschool. I wanted to get a picture of her wearing her cute halloween hat but this was all I was getting from the little pumpkin:So I said, let's play a game.

...has nothing on these two littles! he he he! Thank you Mimi & Pop for the super fun halloween treats! And because I just love school crafts (and halloween clothes too!)......how fun is this Jack 'O Lantern!
Wish I would have taken the pic outside instead of on our breakfast table so you could see it "glowing". Just an empty water bottle, filled with apple juice and metallic confetti and decorated with foam board eyes, nose, mouth, and stem...makes for a super fun "snow globe" pumpkin!!!
(Thank you Mrs. Bryan for hot glueing the cap shut...a certain curious little boy LOVES this pumpkin!)

sugar high

The only way to make a day off from school spent at the doctor's office getting flu shots & boosters bearable...................KrISpY KreMe donuts for breakfast!And not just donuts on the go but a fun little breakfast at Krispy Kreme learning all about how those sugary bits of heaven are made. I think it was one of these signs that drew us in... Watching those little donuts "march like soldiers" and get a "sugar bath" (according to the little pumpkin) was pretty neat. Time to make our selection... So cute! Uh oh, he felt it.
What's that on my head??? So much for the cute hat :( Someone else was busy getting her sugar rush on! Mmm'mmm, I LOVE these donuts! A sticky mess! But what a fun breakfast!
So nice to go for a little treat every now and then.

...and both were super brave at the doctor's...or maybe comatose from all the sugar?!? Grace didn't even cry when she got her flu shot and poor baby H got the raw end of the deal. He got 4 shots...3 boosters + a flu shot :( Thank goodness for that well timed lollie by the nurse (yes, MORE sugar!)

Don't worry, we'll balance out with that Corn & Crawfish Bisque simmering in the crockpot and a yummy salad. Yum!

5 birthdays!

September & October are busy birthday months for us and this weekend was no exception. Saturday after the school carnival we headed to the Anderson's to celebrate Amelia's 5th birthday with a super fun NigHt OwL party! We had such a great time! It was WoNDerFuL being able to let Hudson run around their enclosed backyard knowing he was safe and not having to worry he was running off like he does at birthday parties in public places. And how cute are these????
Cori did such a great job putting this fun party together! Thank you for inviting us Cori & Eric! We had the BEST time!

Then today we celebrated 4 family birthdays!

Happy Birthday, Mememaw(on the right)!Happy Birthday, Papaw!Happy birthday, Lexi! I saved the best for last...Happy Birthday, Aunt Evelyn! Aunt Evelyn celebrated her 95th Birthday!! Wow! Super thankful for the cute owl snacks leftover from Amelia's party that kept this little monkey occupied while they opened gifts! But soon he was off exploring every little corner of that nursing home salon.I have a feeling our Christmas tree this year doesn't stand much of a chance!

school carnival!

We had gorgeous sunny weather for the school's halloween carnival...although I must admit I've been wishin' for the patch of cool temps we had a few weeks back to come back before next week's pumpkin activities marathon!

It all started with a few traditional games like this bean bag toss...

Mid Air! She picked out a couple of black spiders for her prize... ...and I loved that she shared one with her brother! But then...THIS! Oh my, this has to be the GROSSEST game EVER! Ewwww!!!
(of course this one had one of the longest lines....kids!) So thankful she spotted the bounce house so we could get away from the potty humor. Unpatiently waiting her turnAnd she's off! This was like a mini gladiator challenge!She LOVED it! Made it all the way to the top in record time! I think her smile says it all :) A little snack break before hitting the playground
Here we go! Someone has a thing for slides! Time to head home for a quick switcheroo...and then...

We paid Mimi a little visit this morning for the all-important FIRST HAIRCUT!

A little spritz and we're ready to start.
