Happy Easter!

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
~John 3:16
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
~1 Peter 1:3
Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.
~John 11:25-26

egg dyeing 2011!

Dyeing easter eggs is something I hope we do every year! It's such a simple little activity, but I love that we did it together, as a family. This was Hudson's first time too! I just treasure these sweet moments of our littles' childhood so much!As Hudson likes to say...ready, set, GO!
(the anticipation as Lance and I set up was almost too much for the littles to bear!)
Meet Grace Bunny, age 4... Tool of the trade: Magic Crayon! IT WORKED, MAMA!!!!!!Meet Hudson Bunny, age 22 months...Best known for: Sneaky dip! Surprisingly good at: Lining up eggs! Pretty in pink... hop...hop...hop {easter treats & school parties}

This year I went with simple treats for both littles' school parties. I love how they turned out...simple but sweet. For Hudson's I simply put "bunny tails" {mini marshmallows} and three little bunny mallows in polka dot cello bags, printed a sweet picture of him {wallet sized on adhesive paper}, added a cutesy saying, tied it with a ribbon, and voila! I think these turned out so sweet and at just $5 for 12, very doable too! For Grace's party favors, I took advantage of the Scholastic book order forms we're always receiving. Back in February I ordered a couple of bundled packs to split between class gifts and easter baskets. I love to give books as gifts and at just about $1.25 per book, these were a steal! Add some pretty wrapping and a little photo tag......and you've got a fun, non-candy school gift! Of course we couldn't leave those sweet teachers out!

Hudson took little bunny pails full of decorated easter cookies to Mrs. Rebekah, Mrs. Brooke, & Mrs. Cheryl. (check out Hudson...the new puzzles set out for morning free play messed my picture op!)I've been trying to get the little pumpkin more involved in gift-giving, so I asked her what she wanted to give her teachers, thinking she might say she wanted to draw them pictures. Instead, she got all excited and said, "I know the perfect thing...DONUTS!" he he he

So on the way to school the morning of the party, we made a run by Krispy Kreme for some "hot light" donuts and oj (they do taste better when the hot light is on, don't they?), placed them in cute little containers, and she served Mrs. Bryan and Mrs. Peterson breakfast with a smile :)
Sorry my picture is so crummy...I took it in the car, with the little mini tray nestled inside our Easter baskets, but you get the idea...and yes after seeing the "crackly" donut in my viewfinder, I quickly replaced it with a new one! HA!

On to class parties...

Both littles had class parties back to back this week, which meant a lot of juggling. Luckily Noonie came to the rescue so Lance and I could attend both parties. Thank you, Noonie! Hudson's was first. He was so excited to run all over the place carrying his basket and finding eggs.
It looked like it was about to pour down for Grace's egg hunt, so they moved it to the auditorium - still...lots of fun! Hope you all have a blessed Easter weekend!

enchanted

That is how I felt about the gorgeous backyard at the Goodman's, who were so gracious to open up their home for our Junior League's Easter Egg Hunt this past weekend.I wish I would have taken a picture from the patio looking out, but sadly I didn't. I was too busy setting up, making sure all the food was ready and all the eggs were hidden. There were fun iron statues, a water fountain, little hidden sitting areas, and more... This picture makes me both happy and sad. Happy because I caught them like this...completely unscripted, just lovin' on each other {this was taken while I was setting up, they were playing with empty eggs we brought from home}. And sad because Hudson looks SO big to me! Maybe it's the shoes? ;) Trying to get a group picture of the little children in their sweet Easter outfits was next to impossible, as you can see.Ready, set, GO! Hudson had a lot of fun putting eggs in his basket {and dumping them out too!}. This little Southern Belle was as cute as could be! This little guy made me smile from ear to ear! He was so cute and such a BOY! I can now say I know 100% what that means :) Grace was so serious about her egg picking strategy...hmmm, maybe because she helped hide them??? *wink* But even with the best of intentions sometimes you just get a dud. The littles were enamored with this adorable fairy house nestled deep in the garden. Mrs. Goodman told me the fairy house is full of dress-up clothes and all things make believe. Can you imagine the playdates??? We kept it locked to avoid squabbles, but check out these adorable vintage rocking horses out front...LOVE! Lance was chasing after the littles when Grace ran up to me sad faced and all to tell me the fairy had pushed her off the porch and told her she couldn't play there. I thought she was making it up until she told me it was the girl with the fairy wings. I told her to invite her to play together. And then a few minutes later I found them like this... I have no idea what they were saying to each other, but by the looks of it it wasn't "let's play together". The little pumpkin loves to make new friends and include others, but she's no pushover, I tell ya! I once overheard her tell a little friend that was over at our house for a playdate, "Don't talk to my brother like that...you're hurting his feelings." Loyal she is. There were so many sweet babies there, like this little guy content to sit in a sunny spot and play with the eggs... And these brand new itty bitties...brother & sister......who happily napped under a shady tree while their big sister hunted for eggs - so, so, so sweet! After some sweet treats we called it a day! I think all the littles there had a pretty fun time. THANK YOU, GOODMAN'S for opening up your home to us! Your southern hospitality made everyone feel right at home.

Today was the last day of Teacher Appreciation Week at Hudson's Mother's Day Out program (FUN STUFF! More on that soon!)...and I can now breathe a huge sigh of relief having completed 3 big projects this month. I'm looking forward to some carefree days in the coming weeks!
