Valentine's Day...Mardi Gras STYLE!

So let's talk DRESS.  I'm a procrastinator. I'm working to get better, but it's a work in progress...
S    L    O    W work some days!! I had in mind that I was going to wear a certain dress for this Mardi Gras Ball that my mother-in-law had invited us to attend on Valentine's Day but I never bothered to get the dress out of the bag since I knew it had been dry cleaned the last time I wore it.

Well, lo and behold, 4 DAYS before the Ball, I decided I better get it out and it.had.a.hole!! Aaaaaah! So in a mad rush I dashed from store to store looking for something suitable.  Lucky for me I found this lovely dress just before I lost all hope that I would find something ready to go.
And so while the littles had a super fun valentine sleepover date of their own with Noonie (1st time too!)...
...Lance and I got to play dress-up for a change!
We had a great time and it was so fun to see some of our friends and Lance's cousins that we don't get to see often enough.
Shane & Amanda...
Thomas & Julie...
{I borrowed this pic from Julie's page because they looked so cute!!}
I didn't get a pic of Lindsey & Jeremy but we loved seeing them too!

Lance's mom looking all sassy and passing out mardi gras beads!

cRaZY glasses!
Fun times!!
Thank you Noonie for keeping the littles so we could have this fun night!!
XOXO,

buckets o' love {2014}

These buckets have brought so many smiles to the littles over the years! I love bringing them out year after year.
Time sort of snuck up on me and I didn't have a chance to find sweet vintage valentine note cards to write the littles' love notes. I found these at Target and they were a fun alternative. Sweet colors too!
Waiting...
So excited!
Hudson doesn't care much about clothes, but he got a kick out of these pj's!!
Oh yes, the little pumpkin has FINALLY decided skinny jeans are A-OK!!  Woo hoo!
Pete the Cat! Hudson's a big fan!!
And a tiny fairy for Grace...dainty and sweet. LOVE!
Happy Valentine's Day to these two little monkeys!!  Mama and Daddy love you!
And Happy Valentine's Day to all of you! Photobucket

love trails

In case you didn't know this by now, I'm the world's worst at writing up a blog post in a hurry when those pockets of time come my way and then getting interrupted and forgetting to press "publish" so I'm catching up on my valentine week posts. And because I'm OCD, I'm publishing them back to the day I wrote them - ha!

So a couple of weeks ago, the littles were having a not-so-nice day to each other, so out came the craft supplies! Distraction at its finest!
Noonie was due back from Puerto Rico the next day so it was the perfect time to make a few heart paper chains to show her how much we missed her. Win-Win! Grace helped me fold the paper accordion style and then I traced the hearts, making sure to leave the sides of each heart off the paper. I then handed them each a pair of scissors and voila! Sweet paper chains.
Because creativity is messy...
AND beautiful!!
Waiting with anticipation...
I.SEE.HER!!!
No matter how many times we go through this routine, it never fails...I get tears in my eyes EVERY.SINGLE.TIME.
I love my mom dearly...and so do the littles!

Daddy-Daughter Dance!

My heart flutters every time I think of this sweet moment in time!! On Sunday, Lance and Grace went on their first Daddy-Daughter Dance. We shopped for this dress "pink...I really want it to be pink"...and "grown-up girly shoes"...and "a hair flower, not a bow". Oh my!
I even let her borrow one of my strands of pearls. She was over the moon excited about that!  There was even a tiny little corsage!!
And LOTS of pictures!! Phone pics so they could be sent out to the grandmas right away...
And big camera pics so we could remember this sweet moment down the road...
This was my favorite pic. I'm sure it'll make an appearance at her wedding someday...
Her BFF Savannah also went to the dance with her daddy and when Grace and Savannah saw each other, you would have thought they hadn't seen each other in years! Girly squeals and "sassy" poses, I tell ya!
I told Lance to send me pics from the dance and even though I didn't get them until they were back home {hahahaha - men!}, I absolutely LOVE this one! You could tell they were having a blast!!
Looooove!
And then there is this one photo. Oh, heavens! If this is any indication of what we are in for, we are IN TROUBLE!!!
What a fun day!!  Sweet, sweet memories - made my mama heart swell with love even more than usual!
