I dropped off a very happy 3 year old little boy this morning...it may or may not have had anything to do with these...

He was soooo cute! Asked me if I thought the girls would like his valentine treats. Grace came to the rescue and said, "Of course! Sour gummy worms are THE best." Thank you, big sis!
Oh, and I had to add a little chevron love in the form of tape to the back...it's the little things...
I tweaked the treats a bit...here's how I made mine:
1. Cut brown cardstock down to 4" wide x 4.5" tall and stick that inside a clear treat bag (Target party section).
2. Print the mason jars on Avery full-sheet labels and cut around the jar. Also cut a circle out of the middle of the jar (I used tiny seamstress scissors).
3. Peel the labels and stick on the outside of the baggies.
4. Fill with sour gummy worms (3 of the regular packs at Target filled 12 treats).
5. Fold over the bag and secure with washi tape, stickers or whatever you have on hand!
DONE!
Yesterday, the littles were inundated with valentine love from their grandmas!!
First up, Mimi!
This silly boy with his green tongue sure keeps us on our toes!!
ThANk yOU, MiMI!!!
Later, Noonie came over. She brought us baked rice - yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!! It's like fried rice, but baked and IT.IS.SO.GOOD!!! Don't let "baked" fool you...it's still not a healthy dish...has enough butter to make Paula Deen proud. But it is so worth the calories - HA! I asked Noonie to stay over for dinner {made THIS...one of our family faves, along with a green salad to make *me* feel like we were eating healthy - hahahaha}.
Noonie also brought valentine goodies for the littles...
So silly...always doing something funny!!
ThANk yOU, NooNIe!!!
Grace declared she had a present for me and I had to sit with my eyes closed and hold out my hands...she "wrapped" it in the puzzle box Mimi gave her...
She made a little paper doll portrait of me!!!
Gifts from the heart are absolutely the best - NOTHING compares!
{and check out the doll...apparently, I like to stand with my hands on my hips - ha!!!}
Hugfest!!
Lance has been at a work function the last couple of days. He was only gone for 1 night, but we miss him! We're excited he comes home tonight so we can celebrate Valentine's Day and his birthday!! Papa J's too! It's a week of celebrations!!
This doesn't happen often, so when they ask, I oblige!!! Even if it means we are 5 min. late getting out the door, but I digress...
Today, it was the little pumpkin that felt like being a ham. It may have had something to do with the fact I let her wear this twirly skirt she picked out ("It does have some Mardi Gras colors, you know...") instead of what I had in mind. And I even said, yes, to the sparkly "princess" shoes. Yes, even on a rainy day.
She had a little surprise she wanted to show me ("just because I love you, mama") in the form of little vinyl cling hearts. Love her sweet spirit!
Oh, she can be a hoot. I'm always telling her, "Stand up straight. Good posture is important." Today, the joke was on me...as soon as she gave me the hearts, she went right back to our "picture spot" and stood like this:
Silly little pumpkin!!
And she alternated between silliness...
...and sassiness!
Oh, and just for fun, this was their conversation on the way to school yesterday...
Hudson (in his most excited little boy voice): I see 1 port-a-potty! I see 2 port-a-potties!!
Grace (in classic valley girl voice): Eew, gross! I once had to go in a port-a-potty... at preschool... on a field trip to a farm. I made it out alive. Never again.
Hudson: What did it smell like, Grace???!
I laughed soooo hard!! Little boys are soooo funny!
Happy Mardi Gras, y'all!
This past week I was so excited that Hudson's preschool had a little Mardi Gras parade for all the littles. He was dressed in MG colors and ready to go!
Capturing a picture of this little guy is still an Olympic sport, but it's getting a little easier if you sing a silly little song about potty humor...
One last attempt before heading out the door, and of course, the best smile ended up being on my phone pic! Figures!
It was our turn to bring snacks for the week, so I decided to also bring a King Cake as an added treat for right after the parade. Most king cakes have cream cheese but one of the littles in Hudson's class is allergic to cheese so plain cinammon it was.
I figured I would just pop in and out of a local bakery and just grab a cake on the way that morning. Mistake #1. I should have pre-ordered so that I could have gotten the right size because the only plain cinammon king cake they had was HUGE...for like 35+ people...and $$!! Oh well, all for the littles.
And then, just a few steps from the door WHAM! I tripped on my own two feet and landed smack on the floor in my cute denim sheath and nude platform heels, somehow managing to land the XL box on the table of an unsuspecting woman who was probably enjoying her "once a week quiet breakfast by herself". Bless her heart. I'm just thankful I didn't spill her coffee!
She was so kind and immediately stood up and started fussing over me ever so sweetly. Yes, my knees were hurting, but it was my pride that was hurting the most - ha! All I could think to say was "The cake! Please check the cake!" hahahaha
And if you're wondering, yes, the cake was okay and all was right with the world once again.
I love that Hudson's preschool really works those thematic units. This was one of their books this week, leading up to the Mardi Gras parade...
And the corresponding artwork...
Last week when they had their teddy bear pajama picnic, they also had gUmmY bEaR sCieNcE...so cute! Hudson's prediction: {They are} going to change colors...
Time for the parade!
K-3 Fish Class lined up and waiting...
Cuties! I loved listening to their conversations...3 year olds are hilarious!
The K-4 kids passed out the beads..."Will I get one or not?"...I could almost hear the wheels turning in Hudson's head...
YES! I got one!!!
Mr. Personality, that's for sure! he he he
Silly boy! Love him to pieces!!
Hanging out with his buddy Madeline...they even fake smiled the same way - too funny!
On my way out I noticed this sweet tree...
The day before during Chapel, they talked about Jesus and how He loves us. They talked about ways to show their love to others and then about who they show their love to...such a sweet way to "study" Valentine's Day.
Speaking of...
Love this!! {via pinterest}
...and these might just put a little extra skip and a hop her way!
Aren't they sweet?? My late-at-night phone pics don't do them justice. They're even cuter in person and she says they're comfy.
Just stumbled upon them yesterday at a local boutique while looking for a pair of cutesy tennis shoes she could use for PE. The brand is Madie Jane, just in case you're wondering. I had never heard of them before, but they are a small company out of Dallas. See more cuteness {here}.
This pic makes me laugh, but seriously, this is how I've been feeling this week...how many more days 'till Friday?!?!
And one last pic...love this one of my two sweet littles. They may pick on each other and try to one up the other all the time, but they truly are best friends. The little pumpkin is fiercely protective of her little brother. I still remember her telling another child, "Don't talk to my little brother that way. You are hurting his feelings." I sure hope they always stay this close...
Did I mention I'm ready for the weekend??!?
Oh, I did...............*wink*
I've been adding a few v-day decorations here and there to make it a little more festive...
...and this morning we had a super yummy breakfast of {this} French Toast casserole, bacon, heart-shaped blueberry muffins, and clementines...on a weekday! I know!!
These two littles were super excited as you can tell...
Okay, okay, I'm cheating a bit. Although they did gobble up the breakfast, that wasn't the reason for the big smiles. They were excited because we gave them their valentine treats early!!
Yup, there were heart-themed jammies in there so I wanted to get maximum use - hahaha! This little guy was too funny..."I'm pretending I don't see my basket."
The little pumpkin was pretty excited...
All kinds of Star Wars goodies...
I don't know what it is about Pez candy, but my littles are obsessed!
Yes, yes...Pez and Legos!!
She's looking so grown-up these days...*sigh*...I can't believe she's about to be sIx!
Such a fun way to start a Monday morning!!
Happy February! Dance yourself silly!!
XOXO,
