Mudsock Meadow {first grade party}

This has been such a cRAzy busy week!  I'm tired just thinking of it all, but we survived, and I'm sooo glad it's N o v e m b e r!
But this post is all about Mudsock Meadow! The big first grade activity at Grace's school...
It's all based on Patricia Polacco's book...
I ordered these adorable invites from Libby Lane Press. They were great to work with!!
We came up with a simple menu...
A popcorn bar...
Caramel apples...
{I used these cute free printable tags from Whipperberry!}
Tart size chocolate, pumpkin, and key lime pies for the Pie Tasting Station...made by my Co-Room Mom Alicia - so cute!
...and Apple Orchard Punch - so tasty!
This whole event was a huge collaboration. All the parents contributed to make it a super fun day for our 80 first graders. My friend Emme, who is in my Sewing Club and whose little boy Noah is in the same class as Grace, sewed these cute treat bags from fabric in my stash for our Go Fish station...
I even talked Papa J into making this fun sign for our picture backdrop from discarded wood found at Savannah's family's property...thank you, Papa J!!
Our Under-the-Sea Mermaid Fairy ready for a fun day...
Savannah & Grace...Best friends!
Pirate Boys...
Pirate Girls...
Pirate Pals 2013-14!
First up...Pumpkin Seed Spitting!
Only girls hold hands to spit seeds!
Seed Spitting Champions for our class...Noah & Karoline! Too funny that they were both dressed as P I R A T E S!!!
Second Station: Go Fish!
These littles were a bit dangerous with their casting!!
Third Station: Pumpkin Measuring!
Fourth Station: Tug of War! My favorite!!
Only girls think to stretch before tug-of-war!
he he he
Fierce competitors!
One final pull and...
GIRLS WON!!!
Their excitement was contagious!!
Yay for the GIRL TEAM!!
The boys asked for a rematch!
And they came back strong!
I love this...Mrs. A's class cheering on our class! So sweet!
Final Station...Pie Tasting!
Ooooooh, the key lime is T A R T!!
I like pumpkin the best!
Chocolate for me!
Time for caramel apples - yum!
The popcorn bar was a hit!!
Noah's adorable little sister got in on the action too!
Grace & Kloey going for seconds!!
Having a school party? I highly recommend a popcorn bar!! So easy and inexpensive and so super fun!!
What a super fun day for our Pirate Pals and all of our First Grade Friends!!
