Dance, dance wherever you may be...

...I am the Lord of the dance, said He.
And I lead you all, wherever you may be,
and I lead you all in the dance, said He.

This was one of my favorite church songs growing up. I loved its upbeat tune, especially as far as Catholic songs go.
When I see Grace dancing, I always see joy. And it always makes me think of this song. She loves to dance. She radiates joy when she's dancing. She loves the costumes and the makeup afters - ha! She's not a big fan of the time it takes to apply all the goop, but she sure likes seeing herself all dolled up when it's over!
These pics are a mix of dance rehearsal pics and actual recital day pics.
I love the area around the theatre where they perform.  Lots of fun places to take pictures...
Her hip hop class danced to My Girl and they were a hoot to watch. The one little boy in their class was really good too!
Her ballet/tap/jazz class chose ballet for the recital and danced to Don't Go Breaking my Heart - they did so good!
What a great year! Can't believe this is her 4th recital. Her ballet teachers told her she could be in Pre-Company next year, so on to new adventures!
Natalie, Savannah & Grace's teacher, Ms. Y, came to see them during dress rehearsal - so sweet!! They were so excited!!
Flowers from Daddy right after the recital...

Fan Club!
Sweet & Sassy Miss!
Keep on doing what makes your soul sing, Grace!
And always give God the glory.
We are proud of you and we will always be there to cheer you on.
Love you always,
Mama, Daddy and Hudson

First Swim Meet!

Another milestone! We were both a bundle of nerves, unsure about the whole process. Me...trying to stay calm so she wouldn't know I was just as nervous - if not more - than she was. I have to give a huge THANK YOU to a sweet high school friend Holli who I was so glad to see in person and who showed us the ropes with writing out the required numbers on her arm!
A moment of panic...just before her 25yd freestyle swim. At that very moment, I was just so thankful for one of her sweet coaches who looked her straight in the eye and with just the right mix of sweetness and sternness told her, "Yes, you CAN do this. Remember straight arms and fast legs. You got this. Go."
And 48.8 seconds later she was on the other side and I finally let out the breath I didn't even realize I was holding.
Watching and waiting. Learning patience too!
This is how little brothers pass the time at swim meets...
Love, love, love this one! Sam had just finished swimming backstroke and won his heat and these sweet girls were sooooo happy for him! They cheered their little hearts out while he was in the water. S - A - M, Go Sam!
Time for her 25yd backstroke and she was PUMPED about this one! She said backstroke was her favorite.
Girls 8 and Under, Heat 3 swimmers in the water...
And she's off! Look at that smile!! Could be because Daddy had made it in time to see her swim!!
Almost there!
And done in 51.4 seconds! Look at that smile!
Sweet hug from Noonie!
What a fun morning!!!

And isn't this what life as a mom is all about...knowing when to push them and knowing when to set them free and holding your breath while silently saying a prayer for them and rejoicing when you see them come out on the other side!

So, so, SO very proud of you, Grace!!! You didn't give in to fear. You persevered. And you were AWESOME! Daddy and I are so very proud of you!

XOXO,
Mama

Hooray, It's Summer! Breakfast

To kickoff the start of our first week at home since school ended, I decided to throw the littles a "Hooray, It's Summer!" breakfast.
You can tell who the morning person is out of our bunch, that's for sure!!!
Noise makers and Cake for breakfast???! Why not! It's Summer!
As if cake wasn't enough, bring out the sugary fruit loops - one of Hudson's favorite treats! {Grace wouldn't touch them - go figure!}
She did devour a slice of that homemade chocolate cake and gulped down a bottle of icy cold milk!
Here's to Summer and breaking the rules and making fun memories with your littles and loved ones!
And......the Mr. and I celebrated 8 years today! Here's our post-Anniversary-dinner-obligatory-selfie! A juice filet and au gratin potatoes make for full bellies, that's for sure! Here's to 50 more!

Memorial Day {2014}

We had a low key day at home, mixed in with just a few outings. We wore our red, white, and blue in honor of all who have bravely served our country, while remembering all who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
One of our errands may or may not have involved a bag of these...
Lance grilled yummy burgers for us which Grace and Hudson declared "the best burgers in the world!!!"
Never mind the cute mason jars, those lashes!!!!
Even the snowcones got a patriotic spin!
Thank you for the fun slide, Aunt Segi! We are still having a blast with it!
S P L A S H!
Thank you to all of our service men and women for your service. God bless you today and always.
