You can fly! {vintage Dumbo birthday party}

Today we celebrated Grace's birthday at preschool with her sweet little friends. It was supposed to have been Kite Day, thus the "You can fly!" theme, but last night's downpour and the forecast of more rain for today prevented us from letting those kites take flight. No worries. The littles enjoyed cake, cake, and more cake!This morning I had a special treat for the little pumpkin and her brother...movies and coloring books! Keeping with the theme, it was Dumbo for Grace and The Lion King II for Hudson because he's crazy about the original one.It was Hudson's first time to wear a tie...doesn't he look so grown up???!!! Eeeek!Grace was so excited to go to school and celebrate with her friends...Hmmm...maybe because she finally got to wear the long anticipated golden 5!!!Our baker Alyson made Grace a super yummy cake......and even tinted it pink on the inside to celebrate Grace's favorite color!I was so excited to stumble upon these {plastic, disposable} plates. Aren't they cute??!Happy Birthday to you...Happy Birthday to you...Happy Birthday, dear Grace...Happy Birthday to you!!! And many more!Cake time!YUM!With mama and daddy......and Mrs. Bryan and Mrs. Peterson!
{the reality that we only have two more months with these sweet teachers is starting to set in...soooo sad}
Even Noonie stopped by...Grace was SO excited!!The boys...Wait a minute. Who are those two new boys??! :)After LOTS of cake {and before the sugar coma set in}......it was time to burn off some energy.Rain?....schmain!It was a fun morning celebrating five sweet little years...Where does the time go??? I still remember holding you for the very first time...a tiny 5 lb. 9 oz. beautiful baby girl...and look at you know!!And just like in the story...Believe with all your heart, and...Oh, sweet little pumpkin...you are turning into such a big girl, but you will always be our baby girl.Happy 5th Birthday, Grace!
We love you so much!
