lazy summer days + sweet summer nights

Things have been quiet around here but that's because we've been trying to soak up every little bit of 'Summer' we can! We've been having fun with sweet friends...
And enjoying Christmas in July at the waterpark! Hudson found out he has been 93% nice so far this year - hahaha!
Splish...Splash...FUN!
I love my sweet snuggle mornings with this little guy...
...and my Saturday morning Pioneer Woman tradition with the little pumpkin!
On Monday, July 14th, this little guy read this ENTIRE book to me at bedtime!!! I was sooooooo proud!!! Oh, and sunburn = no pj top!
We've been taking advantage of summer break - along with every other parent in town - to get that semi-annual dentist visit in. Hudson had his "cheese" smile ready even before getting his teeth cleaned - ha!  A+ visits for both. Hooray!
Noonie and I finished this adorable maxi dress for Grace. Loooooooove!
I so enjoyed a fun Sewing Club with my sweet friends Ashleigh, Sara, Jamie and Lara! We missed you, Emme!!  Thank you for being the best hostess, Ashleigh!
Lance was gone out of town for a week, so I decided to tackle our dining room. We don't really use our dining room much - we eat most of our meals in our breakfast nook in the great room - so the dining room turned craft room had been neglected for far too long. Annie Sloan Chalk Paint to the rescue!
In just a couple of nights we had a whole new dining table + chairs!  LOVE how it turned out.  I'm seriously crushing on my own furniture right now!  Do you have a project just waiting around your house???  Do it!  Do it!  Soooooo worth a couple of late nights and a little elbow grease!
I'll share better pics once the entire room is finished.

I decided to make the most of the week Lance was gone and do lots of cleaning/organizing/purging. During my cleaning frenzy, I came across my wedding shoes and LOOK what I found??!?! Isn't it amazing? Serendipity! All I could think of was Psalm 139:16...All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
What would Summer be without a few {okay, A LOT!} of these...
And of course, these...
I love Summer nights!
But all hasn't been pink + glittery + unicorn like. We've had plenty of cRAzY days full of ornery behavior. Today was one of those days.
I had to call "time out" on the packing and get out of the house for a while. We hit up the Dillard's sale. Eight pieces of jewelry for $32 is pretty good in my book!!!
And speaking of packing. Can I just say that packing is most definitely in my top 10 least favorite things to do!! I did NOT inherit Noonie's amazing packing skills, that's for sure! Jewelry and shoes...check! The rest...blah!
And while I'm on all things 'Summer'...these are 3 of my budget-friendly Summer must-haves...
Essie's enuff is enuff coral shade is my go-to. Revlon's pango peach gives your lips a shimmery pout and just a hint of color. And L'oreal butterfly mascara is 10x better than the tube of Younique 3d fiber lashes that sits pretty much unused in my makeup drawer. Much faster too!

Do you have any Summer faves??
I'd love to know!

maxi dresses, cows, VBS, hearts, and celebrations!

While waiting for {this} fabric to arrive, Noonie and I decided to tackle the pattern to iron out any kinks before making the dress in the fabric we're going to use for beach pics. I think it turned out so sweet! Noonie and I make a great team :)  Thank you, Noonie!
But goodness, she looks so grown up, doesn't she??!
Sassy + sweet...that is her to a "T"!
And the back, oh my, the back! So cute!
She's going to have more style at the beach than me - ha!

Up next...something using these:
...and a simple little A-line in this gorgeous fabric!
We just finished VBS this past week. My littles loooove VBS! I was only able to help two days this year, but I just love seeing all the littles excited about Jesus and singing praise songs.
On Tuesday, right before getting a bath, he reached into his little shorts pocket and remembered a little something he wanted to give me...something that he had made at VBS that day. Made.my.day!! He certainly speaks my love language.
My dear friend Segi's dad was ordained a deacon in the Catholic Church...a journey he started many years ago. I loved being there to see God bring him through to completion. They are the sweetest family...like a second family to me. So proud of you, Mr. Ricardo!!
Speaking of celebrations...Happy 11th Birthday to my dear goddaughter Madeline!! I love you to pieces!!
My bff Heidi was hosting bunco at her house and needed someone to fill in. It was only my second time playing, but I don't think I messed up anyone too bad - ha! Heidi is the best hostess. Her desserts were de-li-cious!!
I just stumbled upon this and it is sooooooo good! I think I'm in trouble!
Good thing I started running again - ha!
Remember my cow obsession? *wink* Well, I finally framed the print I got from Meg during Craft Weekend. Fabric scraps and a $2 frame and voila! Thanks for the inspiration, Meg!
I couldn't bear cut into my vintage pillowcases for the frame, but I sure did put a couple of them to good use as mattress covers for Grace's American Girl bunk bed! They were the perfect size and I love how they turned out!!
Happy Monday to you all!

Seaside, FL...a year later!

I never got around to posting pics from our family vacay last year. I think with making trips back to back and then getting back just one day before school started, time got the best of me. That or the prospect of going through 400+ pics and I just wanted to say forget it - ha! But we LOVED Seaside and we can't wait to go back in a couple of weeks!
These are some of our favorite pics from that trip. Beth ~ these are for you! :)))
{there are sooooo many pics, the rest of you may just want to skip over this whole post and come back later - ha!}
As soon as we got to our beach house, this is what we saw...breathtaking!
Watching the sunrise from our deck...
Forget breakfast, we're ready for the beach!
The water, oh my, the water!!
I just love the houses in Seaside! It's like stepping back in time.
This post office is the cutest ever!!
Bikes, bikes everywhere! Looove!
And the school!
The town square...love the ampitheatre!
Modica Market
Lots of fun shopping too!
And the food trucks! Fun!
Almost every single day...beach in the morning and out on the town in the afternoon!
Yummy food at Great Southern Cafe!
LOTS of places for sweet treats!
The littles love Duckies!
Sightseeing!
Late dinner at Bud & Alley's and the littles were worn out from a day of adventure!
Sweetest snuggles!
Bike riding early in the morning and then exploring Baytowne Wharf in Sandestin!
Yum!
Back in Seaside and dinner at Pickles! The burgers were so good!
Boys will be boys!
Wackydoodles!
Beach babies!
Goofing off at Pier Park in Panama City...
Back to Dawson's in Seaside for afternoon treats...
Sometimes you make a bad choice and then you are jealous of your sister's treat...
Hot dogs and an evening concert on the square after taking {beach pics}...
Making the most of our last day!
See you soon, Seaside!
