{november notes}

Little snippets I want to remember this month...

Thanksgiving {2014}
From this...
to this in no time flat!
But such a nice time with both my in-laws the Saturday before Thanksgiving and with Noonie and Papa J Thanksgiving Day. Love our family!

Grandparents Day at School
I told the littles to count their blessings because having 4 grandparents (3 who had to take off work to be there) come to Grandparents Day is super special and not to be taken for granted for a second!!
Native Americans Unit
Speaking of school...Little Dancing Fox is as cute as can be! There's something magical about kindergarten year!!
Gobble, Gobble
Our November family project from school was to disguise Tom Turkey...
Hudson picked Santa! And I think he turned out so cute!
Landforms
Grace's home project was to create a landform. She chose a waterfall. We went on a scavenger hunt all over our house to find materials to use. I love the cheerleading pom pom as water - so creative!! Hudson even let us borrow some of his dinosaur pack rocks and palm trees! Fun Fun!!
Makers Fair
The little pumpkin and I escaped one morning and ventured to a fun little makers fair where we found all sorts of fun treasures!
I love, love, love my necklace by Jill Makes!! And we even got matching studs {different vendor - can't remember the name - boo!}. Grace requested we match and I couldn't turn her down!!
Soccer
We wrapped up a super fun soccer season with Hudson scoring a goal the last game {yeah, Hudson!!} and a fun little party at Chuck E. Cheese. Gooooo, Cheetahs!
Book Fairs + Wiggly Teeth
Between grandparents day being held during the book fair and individual class visits, the littles racked up on books! But the biggest discovery was that Hudson has a WIGGLY TOOTH!!! Oh my, how is this even possible??! Won't be long before the Tooth Fairy is paying HIM a visit!!
Home Sweet Home
We replaced the carpet in all 3 bedrooms - hooray!! And in the process, we got rid of LOTS of stuff - woo hoo!!!
Sewing Club
We celebrated another great year of our monthly Sewing Club with a Thanksgiving FEAST! These beautiful ladies are such a blessing in my life! Love you Ashleigh, Emme, Sara, Jamie & Lara!!
Shopping!
And I did a little bit of holiday shopping...shoes...and vintage treasures! ha!
I sure wish I would have brought this one home!!
St. Jude
We finished out the month by walking for St. Jude in honor of our sweet friend Leia and our dear Noonie!
Attempt at a family pic - ha!!
November was so good to us!
Can't believe this year is almost over!! Photobucket

goodbye china, hello fabric love!

I love a pretty place setting like nobody's business, but our rarely used fine china was taking up prime real estate in our dining room-craft room-play room combo space, so it had to go. Love an open floor plan, but sometimes these large, undefined rooms can be a pain to decorate!

Empty and full of possibilities...
{I wasn't feeling the paint on this one so I just went with repurposing for now.}
Goodbye china...Hello fabric cabinet!
Finally a place to store and display my favorite vintage sheets...
And some of my favorite Lulu & Co. party hats...
There's a little friendly lamb pincushion that greets you when you walk by - fun! A fun giveaway I won a couple of months ago from sweet Kerri...thank you!
I stacked some of my favorite prints up high and the colors are so pretty!
A good reminder to use what I have...sew from my stash. But fabric is sooo tempting and hard to resist!!
But it's always little bits and bobs that make me smile when I walk by...
Vintage trim will always have a soft spot in my heart.
Some sweet vintage cards, handmade treasures from friends and embroidery patterns round out the top corner...
So there you have it! A fun little cabinet ready for projects whenever I can sneak in 30 minutes here and there.

Not fancy, not a room with a door {one can dream!...next house, for sure}, but it makes me happy every time I walk by so that's a win in my book.

Happy crafting, friends!

HELP!! Please vote!

This morning, I have a favor to ask of you. Will you please take a second and vote for my dear friend Amber's "Little Lamb" dress over on The Cottage Mama's sewing contest??!
She is one of 15 finalists out of a pool of over 200 entries. 25% of the final score comes from the "popular vote". And that's where you come in!! You don't have to join anything, like anything, share anything to vote. Just click on #10 Little Lamb and submit. And you're done!

I know I'm biased, but her dress is my very favorite because I know how much work goes into hand embroidery and she hand embroidered that adorable apron!! Oh, and her little girl's name is Grace. *wink*

So, please click {here} and vote. And help spread the word if you can!

THANK YOU!!!

maxi dresses, cows, VBS, hearts, and celebrations!

While waiting for {this} fabric to arrive, Noonie and I decided to tackle the pattern to iron out any kinks before making the dress in the fabric we're going to use for beach pics. I think it turned out so sweet! Noonie and I make a great team :)  Thank you, Noonie!
But goodness, she looks so grown up, doesn't she??!
Sassy + sweet...that is her to a "T"!
And the back, oh my, the back! So cute!
She's going to have more style at the beach than me - ha!

Up next...something using these:
...and a simple little A-line in this gorgeous fabric!
We just finished VBS this past week. My littles loooove VBS! I was only able to help two days this year, but I just love seeing all the littles excited about Jesus and singing praise songs.
On Tuesday, right before getting a bath, he reached into his little shorts pocket and remembered a little something he wanted to give me...something that he had made at VBS that day. Made.my.day!! He certainly speaks my love language.
My dear friend Segi's dad was ordained a deacon in the Catholic Church...a journey he started many years ago. I loved being there to see God bring him through to completion. They are the sweetest family...like a second family to me. So proud of you, Mr. Ricardo!!
Speaking of celebrations...Happy 11th Birthday to my dear goddaughter Madeline!! I love you to pieces!!
My bff Heidi was hosting bunco at her house and needed someone to fill in. It was only my second time playing, but I don't think I messed up anyone too bad - ha! Heidi is the best hostess. Her desserts were de-li-cious!!
I just stumbled upon this and it is sooooooo good! I think I'm in trouble!
Good thing I started running again - ha!
Remember my cow obsession? *wink* Well, I finally framed the print I got from Meg during Craft Weekend. Fabric scraps and a $2 frame and voila! Thanks for the inspiration, Meg!
I couldn't bear cut into my vintage pillowcases for the frame, but I sure did put a couple of them to good use as mattress covers for Grace's American Girl bunk bed! They were the perfect size and I love how they turned out!!
Happy Monday to you all!
