a look back...

When Grace was born I decided it would be fun to take a picture every year on Easter Sunday to see how much we've all changed and how our family has grown...

Easter Sunday 2007 ~ Grace was 1 month old and teeny tiny at just 7+ pounds! You can definitely see sleep deprivation in our faces! Since Grace was a preemie, we couldn't go anywhere just yet, so we celebrated with family at home. Easter Sunday 2008 ~ A sweet little 1 year old (and lots more sleep thankfully!) Easter Sunday 2009 ~ A spunky little 2 year old and 29 weeks into my pregnancy with Hudson! We feel blessed! Can't wait to see next year's photo!

Easter Sunday

Jesus Christ is Risen Today - Alleluia!! Ready for church - we've been practicing the sign of the cross with Grace and she was so excited to do it during mass and show Noonie & Papa A.J. :)Noonie and Papa A.J. went to church with us and when we got home, the little pumpkin was ready to open the treats in her Easter baskets Cute bunny and fun game cards! Thank you Noonie & Papa A.J. (having too much fun to pose still for pictures) Treats from the Easter Bunny! Hmmm...what should I open first? Eggs stuffed with Fisher Price little people - WOW! Ooops, I kind of got into the m&m's and now they are EVERYWHERE! I like my new chick cup, but where's the juice? I ate waaaaaaaaay too many treats today. How about you??
And later we went to Mimi & Pop's for a late Easter lunch and an inside egg-hunt since it was pouring outside...

Thank you Pop for helping me find more eggs!! Oooh, a pink cookie - thanks Mimi!! This bouncy, glowy ball is so much fun! Thanks Aunt Marilyn and Mememaw (hope you're feeling better really, really soon, Mememaw!) I think I'll go hide and eat MORE TREATS before mama finds me - he, he, he!

my bunny chef

Thanks Aunt Segi for the cute bunny chef hat and apron! As you can see, we put it to good use!! Add some sprinkles (pink of course)... Gotta make sure they taste good! Strawberry cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and cute little chick picks - YUM!

saturday fun

We had a great Easter weekend. Saturday morning Lexi & Jade invited us to their church for face painting (hand painting in our case :), crafts, a jumpy-jump, and an egg hunt. Grace had a blast! Thank you for thinking of us!!

A pink bunny, of course :) Yum, yum, yum! Grace with Aunt Lexi and cousin Jade (sorry for the "yellow glow" - we were in the gym and the lighting was not the best) Off to look for eggs! Found some! Grace actually picked them up, shook them, and if they were not pink she would take the treats out and leave the eggs behind, LOL! If they were pink, then they were worthy of being put in her basket - ha, ha, ha! Cousins

Good Friday is a time to reflect, to anticipate, to "be calm and know I am God". Friday midday Grace and I had a chance to meet up with dear friends at the park, to enjoy a simple picnic and let the girls explore a bit. What a wonderful couple of hours it was!

a girls weekend

This past weekend, my mom, Grace and I took off for our annual weekend getaway. We always have a great time, but I must say having Grace in the mix sure makes for some belly laugh fits!

First, the simple things...like spinning Noonie around a hotel chair

Climbing on another chair to reach the light switch Going to breakfast (lovie included) Stopping to look for and smell the (pink) flowers Taking a little break during our antiquing day Loving all the sidewalk decorations Okay, I think I've had my fill of antiques store - let's do something FUN! Chuck E. Cheese to the rescue Giddy up horsey! It's an ELEPHANT!!! (we seem to have a mild obsession with elephants these days :) This way is much more fun! Riding the big horsey all by myself for the first time Hmmm...I kind of like keeping Noonie's on my side, that way I can win for sure! Of course, we had to make a stop at the zoo! Check out my little birdie friend!! So proud! Our trip has changed in many ways over the years, but no matter what, we always have the best time! It's great to get away from everyday life and just enjoy each other's company. Thank you, Noonie!

And while we were away... Yup, Lance was busy putting together Hudson's crib! Thanks, hon! The bedding looks nice against the dark espresso finish of the crib. And although I failed the 1-hr. glucose test by a few points, I did pass the 3-hr. test "with flying colors" according to my doc. So no gestational diabetes for me - yeaaa!!

Good thing, because we indulged in a lot of this during our trip: Chocolate chip cookie pie - yum! Okay, off to have fun dyeing Easter eggs!
