jammin' with Papa J
A little trip landed us at Noonie & Papa J's house for the early part of the week. Grace loved being greeted by Sassy (their dog) but wasted no time leading Papa J by the hand to the rec room for a little jammin' session.
Next day it was off to one of Grace's favorite places in the whole wide world...Chuck E. Cheese's! We're becoming C-E-C connoiseurs as we end up going in almost every city we visit!
Hudson hung out with Noonie...
...while Grace galloped away with Papa J.
Even Hudson got in on the action!
And in the end, all 500,000,000 gazillion tickets were traded in for a yellow plastic snake :O
Good times!

pop rocks & papaw
This past Sunday Grace tried one of my childhood favorites for the first time: pop rocks!
It didn't take much convincing...after all the little pumpkin inherited my sweet tooth.
Can you hear them popping??!! And how about those sticky fingers they leave behind??
Later that afternoon we headed to Mimsy & Papaw's house to celebrate his and Aunt Lexi's birthdays. Mememaw was there so we snuck in a little photo op.
Grace wasted no time getting Papaw to play on the floor with her...
...while Hudson had the ladies fighting for his attention :)
A little reading time with Mimsy
And a little jet flying time with Aunt Marilyn
Hey...I like this!
So much fun!
Happy Birthday Papaw and Aunt Lexi!!
XOXO, Grace & Hudson

{wheelbarrow}
Funny how some mistakes turn out better than if you'd planned them all along!
Today, after getting the little pumpkin all excited about vising the pumpkin patch, I turned into the parking lot of the church only to find out the patch wasn't set up and wouldn't be until this Sunday. A couple of calls to check on other patches - Nope, none of them open yet. But it's October folks???? What to do, What to do.
This particular produce stand close to home came to mind. Even though I've wanted to stop by there many, many times, I never have. Boy oh boy, what I've been missing!!!!!!! When we got there, they were SO welcoming and sweet. They were setting out and organizing pumpkins in the old barn, but said they didn't mind us taking pictures. You should have seen Grace's smile - it was priceless! Disappointment averted...Check!
I love this picture. We had just arrived and as soon as I got her out of the car, she ran inside to check things out. She didn't see me sneak up on her and I love how it looks like she's thinking, "Should I or shouldn't I?" And I love that the box reads "Cinderella" :)
She had so much fun picking out pumpkins, giving them silly names, and then adding them to our stack.
I'm in love with this wheelbarrow.
It was the perfect spot to perch Hudson and take his very first pumpkin pictures!!
Hmmm...I'm not too sure about this.
Then Grace decided she wanted to take him for a ride - yikes!
So it was time to wrap it up in the wheelbarrow :) But not before snapping one last photo of my favorite little guy.
If I pose like this, will you hurry up mama? I'm getting hungry!
Time to pay and head home.
But then we saw this tractor...
And just HAD to let the little pumpkin check it out.
It was SO MUCH FUN!
A perfect afternoon after all.
HAPPY FALL!

Maggie Lee For Good
I recently learned on FB about 12 year old Maggie Lee Henson and I can't seem to get her beautiful smile and radiant face off my mind. Have you ever noticed that people who truly love and serve the Lord have a certain radiance about them? I'm not talking in philosophical terms, I mean simply an outward, physical radiance about them. Maggie Lee was one of those people.Maggie Lee died August 2, 2009, from a traumatic brain injury she suffered July 12, 2009 when her church bus flipped and landed on her while on her way to youth camp. You can learn more about this amazing young lady HERE. Her tragic death reminds us all that life is precious and kindness matters.
To honor Maggie Lee's life, won't you join in on October 29th, her birthday, by committing to doing a good deed - an act of kindness. It can be anything you choose. Won't it be amazing to know that on what would have been her 13th birthday, thousands are showing acts of kindness to others. I think she would have been proud.
Maggie Lee...for Good. One Day. One Deed. One Difference.
rock-a-bye baby
So, so, so excited over this little $10 find!!!!! (the rocking chair not the monkey!)
Found it tucked away in a little corner at a local antiques shop. I can't get over it. I L-O-V-E IT! Love the color, love that the paint is all chipped and aged ever so perfectly, love that it is sturdy, love it all!
Here it is again with one of Hudson's lovies - a cute little vintage circus one - draped ever so casually over the back. HA! That'll last all of 5 seconds around here.
I'm loving all the boy stuff. So fun and so new still!
I love that his nursery is a hodge podge of fun things collected over time. Love the brown/blue/orange/now red too color scheme :O
