Today is the first day of my week long STAYcation and I couldn't be happier!!! That is minus the two bloody knees from an ever-so-graceful carpool accident this morning :(
I'm working on lots of fun birthday projects, like this bAnnER...
And these fun upCYcLed cONtaInErs! I still have to add trim to them, but boy, am I glad I saved some of these containers!!
I'm happily swimming in a pILe of fABrICs and tRiM...
Oh, and there's one of those knees...oUCh!
More soon!
{projects that is, not knees - ha!!!}
The little pumpkin has been asking for a playdate with her BFF Savannah forever, but the last couple of months have been tough for us, so finally yesterday everything lined up and we were able to take the girls to a local paint-your-own-pottery place.
She wasn't excited or anything...
Sweet girls!
Hard at work...
Grace with her masterpieces! A unicorn and a kitty cat...there was a little teacup and saucer too!
And my Anthropologie inspired owl {before being baked, of course...it's supposed to turn out much brighter and darker}...and yes, I know the Anthro reference is a far reach - ha!
Lessons learned from this little pottery excursion...
- Painting pottery takes much longer than I thought!! We were there for almost 3 hours!
- Make sure to get enough of the colors you think you'll need b/c similar shades all look alike before being baked and if you run out...............well, just take a look at the top and bottom of my owl - hahahaha!
- It's not as easy as it looks but it's a lot of fun!!
The kindergarteners at the little pumpkin's school celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday with an entire day of fun activities!!
A bright, colorful, Seusserific outfit to start the day right...
Dressing the part...
Little brother couldn't be left behind!!
I really think he looks like the Cat in this one!!
Sweet girls...
Time for breakfast!
So many Cats!!
Even the Kindie teachers got in on the action!!
The littles brought in their favorite Dr. Seuss books...{earlier in the week they made their very own green oobleck (sort of like slime)...Hudson flushed Grace's down the toilet...oh, the tears!}
So true!
LOVE these cute Cats!!
Favorite stories with friends...
Time for Pin the Hat on the Cat!
A blindfold...
A couple of spins...
...and GO!
They got a kick out of seeing where their friends pinned their hats!
Grace's turn!
Grace's BFF Savannah wasn't sure she wanted to have a turn...
...but after a little convincing she decided to go for it - yay, Savannah!
In the end, Adara won! Her prize was Dr. Seuss' A Whale of a Tale...perfect for the Whale class!!
Time for a tasty treat or two...
Savannah's mom, Alicia, made all the cake pops and they were fAbULouS!!!
Truffula Tree Cake Pops...
Star Bellied Sneeches Cake Pops...
...and of course, Thing 1 and Thing 2 Cake Pops!
The cake pops were a HIT with all the silly Whale Kids, that's for sure!!
Yum!
And just before it was time to go home, their sweet teacher Ms. V passed out the goody bags...
I found these bags at Target last year and I couldn't pass them up!! I added each child's name to make them a little more special...
And stuffed them with little treats Savannah's mom made, like these cute Green Eggs candies...
She also sent these fun bookmarks, pencils, and highlighters...tHaNK yOU, AliCia!!
Oh my, the highlighters were SUCH a hit with all the littles - who knew!!
This little fella woke up just in time to enjoy a leftover cake pop!
{tHaNK yOU, Noonie for sitting in the car with Hudson while he napped!!}
What a super fun day!!
I looooooove Dr. Seuss!!!! Remember {this}?
