rainy clouds can't stop me

Today was Grace's highly anticipated Easter Egg Hunt at Mother's Day Out. Having become an "egg-spert" at the joys of easter egg hunting since last weekend, she was more than ready and talked about it all week. Unfortunately the non-stop rain all night and into the morning hours meant her school had to cancel the egg hunt. She was so disappointed...kept holding on to her bunny basket and saying "Easter Hunt, let's go look for pink eggs".

So what's a mother to do (I tell ya, I'm a sucker for those pouty lips)??? After the rain stopped and the sun started peeking from in between the clouds I packed a few eggs and off we headed to the grounds of a local art gallery, where I quickly hid a few eggs right off the walking trails just so she could have her own mini egg hunt. The look on her face was priceless!

Searching for eggs amongst the pretty azaleas Found one! Carefully placing it in her tiny basket Let's go look for more, mama! Watcha waiting for? Let's go already! This is so much FUN! Found another one and it's kind of PINK! Thanks mama! This was the best! Showing me her prized possession one last time before packing it off and going home! Best 15 minutes of my day hands down!

OK, you win the "besy Mommy of the day" award. If there isn't one, there should be. Way to go!

Very sweet!! I love her little jewelry and the little curls at the end of her hair, which is getting so long :) What a fun day.

Cute pics. Hope Miss Grace finds a pretty pink egg that the Easter Bunny hides for her.

Thank you ladies for your sweet words! I was so glad that I just went for it, spur of the moment and all, not caring about the soggy ground. The look on her face was priceless. I think it's moments like these that we remember, at least I know it was for me when I was a little girl :)
