H E L L O.............2nd Grade!!

Since I still haven't found that time-stop machine, I guess I better go ahead and share these cute pics from this morning...

Ready to take on Grade 2!
I have no doubt that she will do great things in her life, but my prayer for the little pumpkin is this: Whatever she becomes, may she always keep God first in her life. Everything else will fall into place.
Grace, 7 yr. 5 mo.
So sweet!
Lunch packed with her favorites... red/yellow/orange peppers, 1/2 bacon-turkey-avocado-cheese sandwich, hard-boiled egg, cranberries, dark chocolate salted almonds, and a few mini choc. chip cookies I added as a treat. And of course, a little note of encouragement from mama.
A big hug from Daddy who had to leave for work early...
And she was ready to go!
But not before an official backpack picture!
She chose a 3-letter monogram rather than her first name...yet another sign my little pumpkin is growing up! *tear*
A little first day treat for her sweet teacher...we got her a dainty little gold first initial necklace...a fun layering piece - hope she likes it!
Quick pic with my best girl!
Pretty soon it'll be your turn, buddy!
Welcome to 2nd grade!
Feeling a little shy, but a sweet hug from her teacher took care of that!
Something new...LOCKERS!!
{that's big kid stuff right there! *more tears from this mama*}
I dropped off half my heart at school this morning. I am excited for the adventures that await the little pumpkin, but I'm also sad to see Summer come to an end. I love the extra time with my littles over the Summer.

As we begin a new school year, I'm praying for school safety, for teachers to feel supported and appreciated so that they will be able to use their gifts to instill a love of learning to all under their care; for the administration to lead with godly hearts; for the littles to be kind, respectful, honorable, good friends to others, and dedicated to learning; for kind and genuine friends; and for the littles to shine as beacons of light of Christ's love for others.

I am specifically praying these 4 verses over the littles and their 2014-15 school year...

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. ~Galatians 5:22-23
Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. ~Proverbs 22:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. ~Phillipians 4:6-7
Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” ~Isaiah 30:21
Here's to a great 2nd grade year, sweet Grace!
We love you more than words can say.

I hope she had a wonderful day! I saw that verses you picked to pray this school year on instagram this morning. I have been looking for a verse for this year and am having a hard time this year. I need to pray for one. I have also been thinking of starting a moms prayer group for the kids this year. It would be fun to start one with moms across the country.
