Twins???

HA HA - made you look! No, not preggers.

Everywhere these two go we always get asked if they're twins. They're both the same height and have the same color of hair and they're only 6 months apart. Today they even kind of matched so I guess 'twins' isn't that far off :) Hayden belongs to my good friend Bridgette. He's such a fun little guy - love him!

Bridgette and her family invited us to join them for some Easter festivities. The day was gorgeous and we had a lot of fun.

First stop, the Easter Bunny. Hayden had no problem going up to the bunny - he just marched up there matter-of-factly and waited for his turn to get some candy. The little pumpkin? Not so much. She was terrified of the bunny and clung to her daddy's neck like there was no tomorrow. I don't blame her really, the Easter Bunny is right up there with clowns for me - DON'T LIKE THEM.

But I couldn't let my silly fears get in the way of Hudson having a chance to get up close and personal with Mr. Bunny for the first time. He wasn't scared at all. He just stared at the bunny as if to say "WHAT exactly are you?" After visiting the Bunny it was time to line up for the egg hunt. Another first for Hudson. No, not the egg hunt. Riding in the stroller looking out!!! Now, I'm not sure why we haven't put him in there like that before except we've been using the snap stroller frame. But he LOVED it! Maybe it was the fact he had his snacks right there in front of him within easy reach??? :)

Off to find some eggs - pink ones, of course. But an exception was made for a blue one...for her "bruder". Hayden found eggs in all kinds of cool places! After the egg hunt we let them play & run around an indoor gym until they were tired (read: good nap :) and then we headed home. Thanks for inviting us Bridgette, Lane & Hayden!!! But dreams of naptime were soon forgotten...at least by one curious little monkey. Naptime...What's that? Hope you have a beautiful God-filled Easter Sunday!
Happy Easter!!

an easter tea party

There's nothing cuter than little girls playing dress up, whispering in each other's ears, and giggling like only little girls can. Yesterday was Miss Grace's first time to host a tea party for four of her little friends (we missed you Maye!) and what fun it was! Click collage to see it bigger.

Between the goodies... old-fashioned treats... and easter egg dyeing......we had a blast!

Amelia (wearing the gorgeous Easter bonnet made by her sweet and creative mama Cori!!) brought Grace the sweetest tussie mussie! Can you see that tiny birdie? Oh my - isn't it sweet!! Grace, Amelia, and Emily indulging this mama in one sweet photo. Bite size treats - just love the Easter color palette! Time to decorate some cookies!! Emily working hard on her flower cookie... ...but it was her creative "egg nest" butterfly cookie that won the prize! Madeline and her masterpiece Silly girlies :) Sweet Ella Kate Hmmm...I think she may have had a little help with her butterfly cookie? :) After a yummy snack of pb&j bunny sandwiches, cheddar bunny crackers, grapes, carrots, and pink lemonade for the little girls and chicken salad & spinach dip for the big girls (mamas :) it was time to dye some eggs!!! Miss Emily made my day when, right before she left, she gave me one of her prized eggs - the green one that I had admired during the party. Such a sweet girl! Thank you Emily!! No boys allowed at the tea party...well, except for one curious little monkey who had fun watching the girls dye eggs :) And later just hanging out, checking out all the gardening goodies Aunt Heidi brought him. A few more treats and it was time to call it a day......but not before indulging this mama in just one more group picture (they were thrilled - can't you tell?) Ella Kate was getting some sweet snuggles during the picture taking.Little hair flower party favors to thank our sweet friends for coming to Grace's Easter Tea Party. Thank you Amelia, Emily, Madeline and Ella Kate for coming to Grace's party! Grace had lots of fun and we hope you did too! Happy Easter!

Easter Program

Today was Grace's easter egg hunt & music program at school. Last year the egg hunt was rained out so we were super excited that the weather today was gorgeous!

The little pumpkin has a fashion sense all her own, so when she insisted on wearing her beloved sTRaWbERry WeLLieS with her hand-embroidered apron dress I knew it was futile to argue. Yes, I'm learning (see HERE, number 3). Plus she DID look awful cute! See that basket??? Well, a little after midnight last night as I was putting the treat bags for her class in my car I noticed the school note that said "children should bring an easter basket with their name on it". Yikes! Her monogramed bunny basket is too tiny so I had to make her other basket work...and fast!

Nothing like last minute to push the bounds of creativity!! So I found this ribbon that had her name on it, picked a few flowers from a flower arrangement and pulled out the glue gun...had I had more time I would have done something prettier but I don't think it turned out too shabby...at least Grace thought it was pretty and pink :) Family photo op...crazy as usual. Time to look for eggs! The sweetest moment was when Grace's little "boyfriend" Miles came running toward her saying "Grace, I found you a PINK egg!" So sweet those two! Admiring her pink eggs. And then returning the favor :) ..."I think Miles would like a purple one." Even little brother got in on the action. Hey...I know what these are now! Then it was time for some sweet songs! A little shakin'...and a little singin'......and a little huggin' your best friend Ava. The little pumpkin loves music, can't you tell? Such a fun morning with sweet kiddos singing their little hearts out!

You sang beautifully little pumpkin!
We are so proud of you Grace!!
Daddy, Mama, Hudson, & Noonie who was there too!
