artsy playdate!

The little pumpkin has been asking for a playdate with her BFF Savannah forever, but the last couple of months have been tough for us, so finally yesterday everything lined up and we were able to take the girls to a local paint-your-own-pottery place.
She wasn't excited or anything...
Sweet girls!
Hard at work...
Grace with her masterpieces! A unicorn and a kitty cat...there was a little teacup and saucer too!
And my Anthropologie inspired owl {before being baked, of course...it's supposed to turn out much brighter and darker}...and yes, I know the Anthro reference is a far reach - ha!
Lessons learned from this little pottery excursion...
  • Painting pottery takes much longer than I thought!!  We were there for almost 3 hours!
  • Make sure to get enough of the colors you think you'll need b/c similar shades all look alike before being baked and if you run out...............well, just take a look at the top and bottom of my owl - hahahaha!
  • It's not as easy as it looks but it's a lot of fun!!

I can't wait to see the finished projects after they've been fired. I need to see if one of the places here has owls. Super cute!
