almost time...

We're in official countdown mode over here...just 2 days 'till the little pumpkin's first day of kIndERgArTEn!!

Yesterday, she went in for the required kindie testing and orientation at her new school. We took advantage of this being a 1:1 time with her teacher and brough her some autumn-inspired alphabet flowers.

These roses were so gorgeous with their jewel-toned blooms that I seriously contemplated keeping the extra half dozen for my own enjoyment, but alas we decided to give some to her sweet principal who we like a whole bunch.
Are you thinking what I'm thinking?? Alphabet flowers again??!? Hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!! Ha!  We've given alphabet flowers three times now...here and here too... but some wise teacher friends once shared with me how a lot of teachers don't eat any homemade treats given to them by students unless they know the child's family, so alphabet flowers seem a safe and sweet beginning-of-school teacher gift.
Grace loooooooooooved her teacher! At the end of the hour-long session, her teacher came back and said to us, "She's so smart and VERY animated. She taught me a few words in spanish and even did a magic trick." Oh, wow, I guess the little pumpkin really took to heart the don't-be-shy talks!! Sure wish I could have been a fly on that wall!!
And speaking of countdowns, do you think she's excited or what about our upcoming trip to Disney??
We're getting ready and that includes a few special outfits too! Ever since my dear friend Amber made Grace {this} cute upcycled dress, she's been in LOVE with comfy knit dresses. So when this cute package from my sweet friend Olivia came in the mail, she was over-the-moon excited.   The magic wand sealed the deal!  More cute dresses {here}.
Thank you Olivia for beautifying character clothing for me!! he he he
Grace L.O.V.E.S. the Little Mermaid and can't wait to wear this sweet dress when we visit the happiest place on earth.
I'll have to share Hudson's Pirate Mickey stuff soon, but alas he's a boy, so his interest in new clothing lasted all of 0.3467 seconds and then he was off to play with his favorite Legos.

Hope you're having a great day...I'll be back soon to tell you about Jesus, the fish. :)

Yay for Grace!! Happy kindergarten. I love Ms. Vailes!!

You are right about the baked goods. I never eat them. I politely take them and trash them later. I appreciate them but I typically don't want to ingest something a student cooked!

I'm sure Grace's teacher loved the flowers! As an elementary teacher myself, I can assure you that there are not many teachers who eat homemade treats. I normally say, "Thank you, I'll save them for after school." Then after school, they end up in the trash, so technically I didn't lie because I did save it for after school! :) I hate to do that, but you just don't know what's going on in someone else's house.

On a side note, I remember Hudson wearing some red and white saddle oxfords last year. Can you tell me where I can find these or what the brand name is? Thanks!

Love the ABC flower idea too!
Just stumbled upon your blog via Pinterest, of course. Love all the super cute clothes on Miss Grace. May I ask where you found the outfit in this post? My orange-lovin' Claire would totally flip for it. :)
