Country Living Fair in Austin!

This past Thursday, Noonie, the littles and I headed to Austin to check out the inaugural year of the Country Living Fair in Austin.
I have to give an honest report and say we were a bit disappointed. The prices were rather high and we just didn't find too many fun treasures. Everyone we talked to said the same thing. But we had a great weekend nonetheless.

We've been trying to eat healthier but on the way down there it seemed like it was a junk food fest!
First stop...Dairy Queen, where Hudson picked out these funny goggles as his kids' pack prize (Yes, they actually let him pick!! That was new for me but maybe it's that way at DQ all the time??).
A certain little miss threw one cRazY fit over eating her steak fingers. Noonie ended up trading her her chicken sandwich (Grandparents!!...she would have never done that when I was little!!!) but the tears still continued. Oh my, what am I going to do when she's a teenager??!
When we arrived at the hotel, the littles were ecstatic. Seriously, my littles are ObsEsSEd with luggage carts. Elevator buttons too - HA!
Yes, that is a bottle of OxyClean in the background...I'm slightly obsessed with it and can't seem to travel without it - Ha Ha!
{Sorry for the blurry pics...my Canon is on the fritz again and I had to borrow Noonie's point-n-shoot...I think it may be time for Canon and I to split up for good.}
Thurday night we ended up eating at this Italian restaurant...
The decor was a bit out there but the littles liked the food.  Hudson ate the biggest bowl of mac-n-cheese EVER!

Friday we were up early for the fair.  We stood in line for 45 min to get in {soooooo windy!}...
But even though we had weekend passes, we walked the entire market in just 2 hours - boo!
The little pumpkin was the most excited because she found a sweet dress for her American Girl doll made out of vintage linens...
There were some fun booths there, like this tepee...
The little pumpkin made friends with some of the sweet vendors...
I don't think the littles have ever seen a camper. They were in awe of all the girly ones we saw there...
This pink one was the little pumpkin's favorite.  She said she wanted one in our backyard ;)
So after checking out all the booths...
...we stumbled upon the animals!
The littles LOVED this part of the fair!
We met the cutest little calf!!
Meet Colorado...he's only 4 months old.
And then, there was Speck...he was not too friendly.
And that was it, our Country Living Austin experience...
Of course we had to stop by IKEA...
More and more treats...
And even a stop at Waffle House!! Whaaaat??! I don't think I've been to a Waffle House since 1990!
Love this sweet pic of Hudson hugging Noonie...when either Mimi or Noonie are around, he is all about his grandmas!
And that was our weekend in a nutshell. I ended up finding some fun fabrics and trims while we were shopping in Dallas (yay!) but the only thing I bought at the Country Living Fair was a $12 bright yellow throw with orange pom poms (think 70s!) that I can't wait to use for a halloween tablescape this Fall. Noonie found a vintage sock mender and that was it. We left longing for {here}.
But hey, at least the little pumpkin is super duper excited about Emily's new dress!! *wink*

Oh sweetheart, you are too generous. A bit disappointed???? I would call this fair a HUGE disappointment!
Anyways, we always manage to find fun things to do and have a good time when we are together. You forgot to mention our "search" for yogurt... but we found it: with a new flavor (was it Taro???) Yummm!

I was reading another blog this morning 'Susie Harris' and she had a picture of the calf Colorado, too! I guess he won many hearts!
