little guy heads to school

Yesterday was Hudson's first day of Mother's Day Out!! It was a C-R-A-Z-Y morning. We have to be in the car, buckled up, and ready to go at 7:45 a.m. to have Grace at school on time for 8:00 a.m. At 7:00 a.m. we were all ASLEEP! Yes, asleep! Our alarm never went off and so we snoozed right on through.

Our trusty back-up alarm (Hudson) didn't even make a peep. Hmmm....maybe he knew it was MDO day and he wanted to stay at home??? ;) We somehow managed to get Grace to school at 8:01 a.m. - Whew! Talk about teamwork!

So in the rush of getting 2 kids groomed, fed & dressed, and squeezing in baths & preps. for 2 adults, we didn't get a chance to take official first day pics :( I did manage to take some once we got to Hudson's nursery school but we'll definitely have to make up for it when he starts preK. He was so excited to check out all the new toys! This picture of my baby boy reminds me so much of Grace on her first day of MDO back in September, 2008...my babies are growing up *sniff, sniff* At first he wasn't too sure about his teachers but I know those two sweet ladies will have him spoiled in no time at all! He didn't cry when I kissed him and said good bye, but he did cry on and off they said - as expected for a first day. But I guess not as much as Grace...at least I didn't get a phone call this time!! HA!

When I went to pick him up after lunchtime, they were playing in the backyard and he was just toddling around content as could be...that is until he spotted me. Then he burst into tears and started a mad dash across the concrete - crawling no less! I ran in as fast as I could to grab him before he skinned his little knees and he just held onto me so tight! Broke my heart! But once we were in the car he was all smiles again! And it wasn't too long before he was snuggled up and ready to snooze...if only the MDO were further away, but in just 5 minutes we were home. ...where all thoughts of napping were quickly forgotten and he was REALLY back to his old self, getting into all kinds of things he's not supposed to! And this one just makes me LAUGH!
Don't worry Hudson, I feel the
SAME WAY about Dora! Happy 1st Day of Mother's Day Out, my little chunky monkey!!!
We love you soooooooooooo much!
