new year, new choices

My once good eater has turned picky and my once picky eater has turned super picky, so...............................

I'm getting creative!

Over Christmas I ordered this new lunchbox (classic):
and this bento box, the pink one of course ;) pulled out all my kid-friendly cookbooks...and revisited some of my favorite lunch blogs for inspiration like this! Photo Credit: Another Lunch

This morning we had to improvise since I'm still waiting on the UPS man to deliver the lunchbox & bento. We borrowed one of Hudson's little plates and Grace helped me make the selections, including the all-important new pink pudding cup :)Here's to hoping I don't see anymore barely touched lunches from the little pumpkin's lunchbag after school!

And so I'm sending out an S.O.S! If you have any particularly yummy, kid-friendly lunch ideas, will you send them my way? My littles' tummies will thank you!

I am in search of a bento box too. where did you find yours? My juju is obnoxiously picky with his food too. Hoping that he'll actually eat all the things he decides he wants to take.

We have that same Bento box, and Emily loves it! My only issue is that it is kind of hard to close it sometimes, and alot of messes come home in that thing. It's another step in my night (cleaning it out) but I do feel good that we aren't using a million plastic bags anymore.

Have your kids tried edamame (soybeans)? Emily loves those, and she is a VERY picky eater. I honestly don't know how she survives on the food she eats most days. Food is just not important to her. I sure wish I had that problem LOL!

My little ones, love empanadas with cheese and pepperoni, also cucumbers with cream cheese, dried fruit with sliced bananas, I hope this helps.

I don't have kids but came across this blog that looked like it might have fun ideas....maybe time consuming? But cute! ;-)

Ooooooh, thanks for all the suggestions! Can't wait to try them out! Keep 'em coming!

The bento and the lunch bag are both from Pottery Barn Kids. I think there are lots more options on amazon (cheaper too), but I wanted one that would fit in a lunchbag and it was just easy to buy them both at the same time.

Lesa, thanks for the link! I love muffin tin lunches and she's got great suggestions!! I'll definitely be trying some of those at home...for Hudson too!

How fun! I just started doing the muffin tins here at home too. With three kids under 4 who ALL are picky eaters I had to try something new. Check out this ADORABLE strawberry BENTO box on Amazon. I thought of you when I was just looking through their boxes:)

Jessica, you are not alone and your post is timely! Except for breakfast, Amelie refuses most meals I offer her and in complete frustration I today asked the cook at her Kindy for all her receipes. Amelie eats at kindy (just not for me it seems). I love the idea of muffin tin Mondays - I'm going to try this. Sometimes it helps if I let Amelie cook/prepare the food with me or if I present it differently (e.g. peas in a egg cup, sandwhiches in the shape of stars or hearts) or call it something different (e.g. "princess peas", "fairy wands" for carrots sticks or "fairy trees" for brocoli) good luck!

LOVE that strawberry bento!! And the bunny mold too! I worry about all the BPA, etc. stuff with products made overseas, especially those for food consumption. I know that's probably silly of me and I need to get over it.

I'm glad I'm not alone in the "food wars" and I LOVE the fun names...I'm going to start using that too!

Thank you guys for all the ideas! Keep sending them, pretty please =)
