stay-in-your-pj's-and-lounge-around kind of day, and so we did.
While the little pumpkin was busy making these cute forest critters...

I do love that tom turkey's button eyes are a bit off-centered...gives him character...or so I keep telling myself. *wink* So.......my question is, is this little gobble, gobble too girly for a boy??? Hmmm...his feathers seem sort of...rainbow-ish, in a 70's kind of way. HA! Thank goodness Hudson is still little and doesn't mind such things because after all that stitching he is DEFINITELY wearing this
t-shirt before Thanksgiving!
Grace has already put in her request. She wants "a pretty turkey...a girl turkey" so I'm sure I'll be adding some pink and maybe a bow to her tee...and then there's the gingerbread house / gingerbread boy pair of tees I can't wait to make for the littles...I see many late nights in my near future and there's only so many infomercials one can take, ya know?

I love the shirt! I've been meaning to make a girl-ier one for my girls. What a great way to use scraps.
I think it looks like a boy (especially with a pair of jeans or trouser) but I would ultimately leave the decision to his Dad :)
So cute! I think it's totally a boy shirt. I am thinking of trying to do a freezer paper stencil shirt for Carter in a turkey design. I just don't know if I can take the stress of sewing right now LOL!
Great job!
I think it is super cute and would be precious with orange suspenders and blue jeans!
too girly!? I think not! So cute! I want one for Bennett!
Haha! I just made 3 of those same turkey shirts today and yesterday! Except I did a zig zag with a sewing machine. I bought a template on Etsy that looks like that. I made my 18 month old girl a "girl" turkey with a bow on it's head. And I made a boy and a girl one for a friends children. I have only taken pics with my cell phone so far and not my camera but I'll be posting pics of them on my blog in a day or two. You'll have to check out my turkeys. :) And no, I don't think it's too girly for him. It's cute!
Thanks, y'all! I feel better about sending him to MDO tomorrow in his turkey shirt :)
Amy~ I sure could have saved myself a lot of time if I'd known about a template! Do you mind sharing with me the store? I want to do a shirt with a cute little deer for my "Running Deer" Native American name obsessed little pumpkin and I sure could use a template if they have one!!
I LOVE Hudson's turkey-shirt!
You are turning into quite a designer, my dear daughter.
I don't mind at all! I normally use Etsy Kim (Applique Art by Kim) for templates but lately I've also been getting them from Sophia Grace a Unique Boutique (on etsy) april0115 is her user name, I'm not sure which you'll need to look her up. I got that turkey one from her. Then I used a bow template from a minnie mouse template I had previously bought to go on the turkey for a girl one. :) If you go on the Etsy Kim shop she has several different deer templates.
Here is the link to my post showing my turkey shirts.
