this little boy of mine - part I

What a crazy week! I'm knee deep in the final preparations for a 350+ person fundraiser benefitting child abuse victims...$43,000 raised so far! Yay! After Tuesday I think I'll breathe a huge sigh of relief :) And then Lance was out of town for the last 3 days...talk about chaos around these parts!

But I'm taking a mini break from seating arrangements and speeches to dwell on the littles that make my life so very rich. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Hudson is 100% boy. That means ON.THE.GO every hour that he's awake and into EVERYTHING. No down time with this little monkey around. Naps are completely optional according to him. But...he's also in a very cute stage right now...a melt-my-heart stage. He likes to flirt with pretty girls everywhere he goes. He's got the "charm 'em" look down pat. He has started showing his temper more, complete with throwing himself on the ground and fake crying. He gets an A+ in acting class. It's still cute because it's so new. I'm sure in another 6 months it won't be :) He has started repeating what we say and can tell us some of the things he wants, like "ball" and "spoon" and "cwacker" (cracker). He can point to quite a few body parts. But his favorite is finding his belly button! His favorite word is "No". HA! Wonder where he gets that from??? And he says "Ah oh" instead of uh-oh, in the sweetest little voice ever! He is definitely my little cuddle bug. When he gets a bit rough with his playing, you can tell him "gentle" and he'll rub your face with those adorable squishy hands and bury his head in your neck. Yea, he's got me wrapped alright!
A self-proclaimed girly girl with a house full of pretties and breakables, I was ill prepared to be the mother of a boy. I'm still learning...but I love it! Having this opportunity - this amazing gift - to raise both a daughter and a son has been more than I could have ever imagined; definitely more than I deserve. Smitten. I'm smitten. That pretty much sums it up.
